J.R. Leigh

J.R. Leigh writes warm and gently humorous cosy crime fiction set in picturesque locations in Britain and France.

Her first series is set in a picturesque Cornish coastal town and features Morwenna Mutton, a feisty septuagenarian grandmother who has two part-time jobs (in the local library and her daughter's cafe), but still finds time to exercise her sleuthing skills helping to solve the murders that plague Seal Bay.

Her second series will be launched in 2026 and makes the most of her abiding love of France and its culture, with ex-detective Irishman Archie Darling touring the most beautiful spots in France in his VW campervan, accompanied by his pet Dalmatian dog. Together they sniff out the clues behind the crimes that seem to fall across their path,  helping the French police follow the right track to apprehend the killers.

J.R. Leigh is a pseudonym of Judy Leigh, bestselling author of contemporary women's fiction (see separate page on this site).
