Jan Casey

Jan Casey writes WW2 saga fiction focussing on the extraordinary things that ordinary people can do in extreme situations.

Her interest in the period was first piqued when, on a Thames riverboat tour, she  heard the story of Waterloo Bridge being built by women during the Second World War.  This inspired her first novel, The Women of Waterloo Bridge and all her subsequent novels have told the stories of women who were unsung heroines of WW2, taking on roles vital at the time, but which have since been forgotten.

Her first five novels were published by Aria (Head of Zeus), and she has now signed a contract with Joffe Books, who will publish her sixth novel, The Nowhere Sisters, in 2026.

Jan lives in Norwich where she gained an M.A. in Creative Writing from Norwich University. She has been first a teacher of English and Drama and then a Learning Supervisor in tfurther education, but now writes full-time.

Jan Casey is represented by Kiran Kataria.
